THE CHALLENGE: A BAR NO ONE HAD CLEARED
A PE-backed national provider of supply chain workforce solutions, staffing warehouses and distribution centers across the U.S. and Canada, was scaling into its next phase of growth. Its impact-focused owner tied job quality to business performance, setting a high bar for the incoming Chief People Officer: carry that thesis into the business as a true operating partner to a newly promoted, exacting CEO.
That leader had already reviewed dozens of candidates without finding the right fit, and the compensation on offer lagged the caliber the mandate required. L.Maxwell calibrated the search to that reality.
THE SOLUTION
L.Maxwell saw what the stalled search had not: the compensation on offer sat below the executive the mandate required. A fast compensation study confirmed it, the client reset the range, and the search moved.
It then pursued a profile the client had not targeted: leaders who came up through workforce solutions and proved themselves across industries inside PE-backed businesses, fluent in a sponsor's rigor. A business operator, not an administrator of HR. Where the client saw an empty market, L.Maxwell delivered two finalists separated by the narrowest margin.

A people leader with 18+ years across workforce solutions and Fortune 100 financial services, most recently in a CHRO-equivalent remit leading HR for two divisions of more than 4,000 people. The profile the mandate called for. Since joining in January 2025, the executive has:
Established the first unified purpose-and-values framework, lifting benchmark alignment from 32 to 83.
Built talent management from the ground up, clearing roughly 90% of identified leadership risk.
Turned recruiting into a proactive sourcing engine, unified across business units. Rebuilt HR delivery around the field at near-complete SLA compliance.
